ABB | Customisable Machine Guarding
Safety fencing systems prevent or reduce access to dangerous equipment and machinery, protecting nearby workers or machine operators from possible injury.
Quick-Guard Customisable Machine Guarding System
Robust aluminium. No drilling. No welding.
Quick-Guard is a very flexible fencing system consisting of a few modular components - aluminium profiles, brackets, net-locks, mesh and solid or noise reduction panels, combined with ABB's patented screw-lock system.
Brackets are supplied pre-mounted with fixing screws & nuts.
No holes need to be drilled, reducing the need for specialised trades people and Hot Work Permits. This makes on-site assembly and modification easy, saving labour costs.
- Highly customisable to all industrial applications
- Fast installation with patented screw-lock system
- No drilling or welding required
- Robust powder-coated aluminium profiles
- Strong whilst light weight & aesthetically appealing
- Up to 45° angle bend between sections
- Customised hinges and sliding gates are available
Being modular, you can choose from a complete range of ABB Jokab safety sensors and add to fencing in minutes, with mounting brackets pre-assembled with screws.

Unique Safety Rated Roller Door AS 4024.1 Category 4 / PLe
The ABB Safety Roller Doors make it possible to have a short safety distance to the machine, with the highest level of safety. The noise absorbing roller door is compact and can be placed in narrow spaces.
• Prevents unintentional start
• Closed position is monitored by the Eden non-contact safety sensor
• Quick operation
• High reliability
• Noise absorbing
• Withstands harsh environments
• Customisable size (maximum 4m x 3.5m)
The Safety Roller Door is simple to assemble because it consists of few components and is supplied partly pre-assembled. To be able to start the machine the door has to be completely closed.
The closed position is monitored by the Eden non-contact safety sensor from ABB Jokab Safety. The roller door protects against ejected particles and it is also resistant to a large number of chemicals which permits it to be installed in harsh environments.
The roller door can be integrated into the Quick-Guard or other fencing systems. It can also be installed on the machine or other permanent construction.
Safeguarding Dangerous Machinery: AS 4024.1 Part 2801
For the fencing to be effective, the height of the fence and the distance from dangerous machinery are important considerations. AS 4024.1-2801 details safety distances and safety gaps when positioning protective equipment, with respect to the approach speed of parts of the human body.
Ergonomics is another aspect of fencing height and distance that should be taken into account for the well-being and overall performance of workers.
